As a homeschool mom, Kris recalls the days of her early educational journey as she taught her four children. She remembers the excitement of attending a homeschool conference, finding the “perfect” language arts curriculum that taught 100% of everything she believed her children needed to learn about the subject, writing in particular. But in those early years, she found herself and her children hitting the all-to-familiar brick wall a few weeks into each new school year. All of it was simply too much! Furthermore, Kris realized that her children didn't need to excel in every aspect of writing and reading in order to succeed.
This was the birthplace of The Write Journey . . . three decades ago. This marked the beginning of our own journey to find the best, most essential parts of all the great curriculum that exists. Perhaps you and your children relate to Kris’s story of feeling overwhelmed, wishing you knew what parts of all the great curriculum must be mastered so you can focus on those most essential, specific skills. When you partner with The Write Journey, your children learn our writing methods in our “Writing Foundations” courses, then they practice these essential skills in our “Reading & Writing” classes. Adults learn to teach our writing methods by attending an ATP Handbook Training Seminar, and participate in numerous community events. The result is confident writers . . . yes, even happy writers.
